Feast of St. John 2026 - Porto Santo

The Feast of St. John are one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island of Porto Santo, and they are part of the celebrations of the municipality of Porto Santo.

The Popular Marches, in which various groups. dressed for the occasion in a parade along the city's main arteries, accompanied by the sound of popular music and the distinctive fragrance of basil and bonfires, are the culmination of these festivities.

In addition, the event includes several sports and cultural activities, ranging from golf and tennis tournaments to food tastings and live music performances.

Here are the main events included in the programme:

Musical Performances:
The event features concerts by well-known artists on stages such as Praça do Barqueiro and the Gastronomy Stage. Highlights include performances by Buba Espinho, Atoa and David Antunes & The Midnight Band (June 19), José Cid and Insert Coin (June 20), Ivandro (June 21), Resistência (June 22), and Rebeca (June 23).

Daily Entertainment:
At the Gastronomy Stage, activities begin daily at 7:00 PM, featuring regional talents and groups such as Fonte da Pipa and Amigos da Música.

Traditional Marches:
On the night of June 23, the traditional Marchas Populares take place, celebrating the island’s identity and traditions with vibrant colours and music. Several local groups participate, including the Camacha March, Dragoal March, and City March.

Fireworks Show:
Following the parade on the night of June 23, a fireworks display lights up Porto Santo Bay.

Sports and Cultural Activities:
The programme also includes golf and tennis tournaments, as well as events dedicated to local gastronomy.
