Carnival - Porto Santo

On Thursday, February 12, Carnival celebrations will begin with a parade of students from Porto Santo's schools, setting off from the Community Center. The festivities will continue at the Municipal Square with the show 'Novo Circo - Gramoclowning'.

On the same day, a Carnival Workshop will take place, organized by the Educational Service of the Municipal Library. This initiative aims to explore the playful spirit of Carnival with children, encouraging creativity and fostering interest in the traditions associated with this festive season.

The parade of the Madeiran troupes Rosa Flor, Animad, and Geringonça, along with the traditional 'Desfile Trapalhão' (Comic Parade), will be held on Tuesday, February 17, departing from the Community Center. The celebrations will culminate at the Municipal Square with an awards ceremony for the best costumes in various categories, followed by the performance 'Roda de Samba' by António Duailibi, promising to bring Carnival to a close with rhythm, joy, and lively entertainment.

The municipality also informs that registration for the 'Desfile Trapalhão' is now open at the Culture Office or on the day of the parade.
